Hard Starting and No-Start: Battery, Fuel or Engine?

November · Part 11 of 12

A slow crank or clicking usually points to the battery, starter, or charging system.

Cranking but not catching can mean a fuel delivery problem, a crank or cam sensor failure, or an ignition issue.

A no-start that developed gradually is different from one that happened suddenly. Tell your technician what changed—that context speeds up the diagnosis.
